We want to be an icon instead of being an idol. Since presenting good music to the public is the job of a singer, we want to give hope to the ones who are working for their dreams. We want to be that confident icon that represents women.


I want to be a singer-songwriter, who writes different kinds of music, I don’t want to be restricted to one kind of music only, and want to make songs that cover a variety of concepts that different people could like.



A few times, I thought that maybe this isn’t for me, but training was fun. Now that I have the chance to sing songs, I would like to sing the songs that people can relate to themselves.


The most important thing is to be your-self.

In 30 years, I hope that we age along with our music. We may be walking separate paths, but I’d love it if we could get together once in a while and hold a concert under the name of "2NE1".


To tell you the truth, I’m not the type to go shopping or clubbing. Everyone seems to think that I love to party. I like to go to Teddy’s studio and listen to the songs he produced and go to the park for a walk. You didn’t expect to hear that from me right?


I performed on more stages; I became sure that that was what I wanted to do because it was what I always dreamed of.


Even if you don’t understand the language, you can still love the music.


It’s important to place first as well, but sharing emotions with the public with our music is more important. That is the success that we think about. 


We want to try girly things, we will do girly things, and i believe we’ve already done girly things.


President Yang Hyunsuk told me to stop talking about Teddy oppa. haha. I want a manly guy who can respect me. A positive and energetic person.

When someone says I’m ugly, I say that it’s okay, I’m an admirable beauty so I’m okay.


It’s not a case of singing well or not… the most important thing is to be your-self. Having confidence in yourself.


There’s always a message in our songs. We want to let everyone know that there are people who sing about the power of women. We’re not saying to throw away one’s femininity, but to know that we’re not all delicate just because we’re women.


When life gets rough, turn to music! When you can find lyrics you can empathize with and some music you can really feel, I guarantee it can be a big help to you.


To just put up with it and love you: Is a waste of time.


It’s too hard to pick just one; because there are so many people I respect and look up to. Right now, I would say Queen and Prince.
